Quick answer: GTA 6 releases on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, per Rockstar Games. On PlayStation the unlock follows your account’s store, not your clock: the US store opens at 05:00 UTC, which is midnight Eastern but 9:00 p.m. Pacific on November 18 (US PlayStation Store listing, retrieved October 26, 2026).

Store unlock times: PlayStation Store listings (US, UK and Australia re-checked by BitsFromBytes Research on Oct 26, 2026). Xbox has not published per-country times; the Xbox option counts to midnight on your clock. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
What does this GTA 6 countdown do?
It counts down to the moment Grand Theft Auto VI unlocks for the store your account belongs to, then shows that moment on your own clock. Pick a PlayStation Store region, or Xbox, and pick the time zone you want to read it in. The tool also gives the pre-load opening and the last minute to buy with the Vintage Vice City Pack, copies the result, and saves a calendar file. It runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
What time does GTA 6 unlock in my region?
GTA 6 does not unlock everywhere at once. The PlayStation Store lists 15 separate unlock windows, from New Zealand at 11:00 UTC on November 18 to Mexico and Central America at 06:00 UTC on November 19.
Each window opens at midnight on its store’s reference clock. Countries with several time zones get one store-wide timestamp, so their western regions unlock in the evening of November 18.

GTA BOOM compiled the full 15-window table from regional PlayStation Store pages on September 7–8, 2026. BitsFromBytes Research re-checked three of those windows against the live US, UK and Australian store pages on October 26, 2026, and all three matched.
Why isn’t GTA 6 unlocking at midnight where I live?
Because the PlayStation Store attaches one timestamp to each store region, and your account’s region decides which one applies. Changing the console clock does not move it.
The US store page shows 11/19/2026 05:00 AM UTC. That is midnight in New York, 11:00 p.m. in Chicago, 10:00 p.m. in Denver, 9:00 p.m. in Los Angeles, 8:00 p.m. in Anchorage and 7:00 p.m. in Honolulu, all on November 18. Players in Halifax get it at 1:00 a.m. on November 19 instead.
Australia works the same way. The Australian store lists 01:00 PM UTC on November 18, which is midnight in Sydney but 9:00 p.m. in Perth.
So a countdown that targets “midnight in your time zone” runs 3 hours long for a US account in California and 5 hours long in Hawaii, because the US store does not wait for those clocks.
BitsFromBytes Research finds a 19-hour spread between the first and last PlayStation unlock: 11:00 UTC on November 18 (New Zealand) to 06:00 UTC on November 19 (Mexico and Central America). A New Zealand account plays 18 hours before a US account.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
Rockstar’s support page says digital pre-orders can start pre-loading at local midnight on November 12, 2026, one week before launch. The PlayStation Store lists a “7-Day Pre-load” on both editions.
The countdown places pre-load exactly 7 days before your store’s unlock. For a US account that is 05:00 UTC on November 12, or 9:00 p.m. Pacific on November 11.
The physical version is a download code in a box, with no disc. Rockstar says it ships from November 12 so the code can start the same pre-load.
When is the last chance to get the Vintage Vice City Pack?
Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 press release says all pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The Australian PlayStation Store states the cutoff as 23:59:59 on November 19, 2026.
The tool shows that cutoff as the last second of November 19 on your store’s clock. For a US account it falls at 10:59:59 p.m. Central on November 19.
Does the GTA 6 countdown work for Xbox?
Partly. Rockstar confirms the November 19, 2026 date for Xbox Series X|S, but neither Rockstar nor Microsoft has published per-country Xbox unlock times in the sources we checked on October 26, 2026.
The Xbox option counts to midnight on the clock you select. Treat it as an estimate and check the time shown on your own Xbox order. Rockstar’s support page notes that Xbox download codes are not region-locked, while PlayStation codes must match the region of your account.
How does the countdown work?
The tool holds the 15 PlayStation unlock instants in UTC, as listed above. It subtracts the current time on your device and splits the remainder into days, hours, minutes and seconds.
- Time left = store unlock (UTC) − now (your device clock)
- Pre-load opens = store unlock − 7 × 24 hours
- Vintage Vice City Pack cutoff = store unlock + 24 hours − 1 second
- Xbox estimate = 00:00 on November 19, 2026 in the time zone you select
Display conversion uses your browser’s own time-zone database, so daylight-saving rules come from your device. No daylight-saving change falls between November 12 and 20 in any of the 15 store reference zones, so the 7-day and 24-hour offsets land on midnight.
On first load the tool guesses your store from your device time zone (a US time zone maps to the US store, any Australian zone to the Australian store) and falls back to the store whose midnight matches your clock. You can always change it.
Worked example: a US PlayStation account in Chicago
At 3:37 p.m. Eastern on October 26, 2026 (19:37 UTC), the US store unlock is 05:00 UTC on November 19. The difference is 23 days, 9 hours and 23 minutes.
On a Chicago clock (Central Standard Time, UTC−6), the tool shows:
| Milestone | Chicago time |
|---|---|
| Pre-load opens | Wed, Nov 11, 2026, 11:00 p.m. CST |
| Game unlocks | Wed, Nov 18, 2026, 11:00 p.m. CST |
| Vintage Vice City Pack cutoff | Thu, Nov 19, 2026, 10:59:59 p.m. CST |
A countdown aimed at midnight in Chicago would still show one hour left when the game is already playable.
What can’t this countdown tell you?
- Server load. The store timestamp is when the game unlocks, not when everyone gets in. Launch-night queues are not something a countdown can predict.
- Late changes. Sony or Rockstar can move a store timestamp before launch. We re-check the store pages listed in our sources before November 12.
- Stores missing from the list. If your country is not in the table, no PlayStation time has been published for it in the sources we checked. Do not borrow a neighbour’s time; check your own store page.
- PC. Rockstar’s support page lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for GTA 6, so there is no PC unlock to count down to.
Data freshness
Last updated: October 26, 2026. Release date and editions from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive; store unlock times from the PlayStation Store (US, UK and Australia checked October 26, 2026) and the GTA BOOM regional table (September 2026).
Review trigger: any change to the release date or a store timestamp, the first published Xbox unlock times, the pre-load opening on November 12, and launch day. If we change a time on this page, the correction is dated at the bottom under our corrections policy.

What time does GTA 6 come out in the US?
On a US PlayStation account, GTA 6 unlocks at 05:00 UTC on November 19, 2026. That is midnight Eastern, 11:00 p.m. Central, 10:00 p.m. Mountain and 9:00 p.m. Pacific on November 18, per the US PlayStation Store listing.
Can I play GTA 6 early by changing my console clock?
No. The unlock follows the store region of your PlayStation account, not the console clock. Rockstar says PlayStation codes must match your account’s region.

When does GTA 6 pre-load start?
Pre-load starts at local midnight on November 12, 2026, for digital pre-orders, according to Rockstar’s support page. Physical copies contain a download code that also starts the pre-load from November 12.
