GTA 6 System Requirements Checker: Can Your PC Run It?

By BitsFromBytes Team · Reviewed by Riley Tamura · Last updated October 27, 2026

Quick answer: Rockstar has published no GTA 6 PC requirements, because no PC version has been announced as of October 27, 2026. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The checker below compares your own graphics card, processor, memory and drive with that console hardware and estimates your frame rate at PS5-equivalent settings.

Estimate, not an official requirement: Rockstar has published no PC version or PC requirements (checked Oct 27, 2026). GPU scores: Tom's Hardware 2026 raster hierarchy, 1440p Ultra. Console specs: Sony, Microsoft. Laptop GPUs run slower than desktop cards of the same name. Runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

What does this GTA 6 requirements checker do?

The checker answers the only question that can be answered honestly before Rockstar speaks: is your PC stronger or weaker than the consoles GTA 6 is built for? Pick your graphics card, enter your processor cores and threads, RAM and drive speed, and choose a frame-rate target. The tool returns your GPU’s performance as a percentage of a PS5, an estimated GPU-limited frame rate at console-equivalent settings, and a pass or warning for each part. It runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Are there official GTA 6 PC requirements?

No. Rockstar’s official GTA 6 site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, with a November 19, 2026 release date. GamesBeat reported on October 13, 2026, citing four anonymous industry sources, that a PC version targets the first quarter of 2027; Rockstar did not comment, so treat that as a rumor (Inven Global).

Any page listing “official” GTA 6 minimum and recommended PC specs today is publishing a guess. This page will add Rockstar’s real table the day it exists.

What hardware does GTA 6 run on?

Sony lists the PS5 GPU at 10.28 TFLOPS from 36 compute units at up to 2.23 GHz, with an 8-core, 16-thread Zen 2 CPU at up to 3.5 GHz, 16 GB of GDDR6 and an SSD reading 5.5 GB/s raw (Sony spec sheet via Famitsu). Microsoft lists the Xbox Series X GPU at 52 compute units at 1.825 GHz (12 TFLOPS) and the Series S at 20 compute units at 1.565 GHz (4 TFLOPS), both with 8-core Zen 2 processors.

    How does the checker work?

All PC graphics cards are scored from a single dataset, the Tom’s Hardware GPU benchmarks hierarchy (rasterization, 1440p Ultra, updated June 2026), where the RTX 5090 is 100%. Consoles are not in that list, so BitsFromBytes Research places them on the same scale through the Radeon RX 6700 XT, which uses the same RDNA 2 architecture.

    StepFormula
    GPU computeTFLOPS = compute units × 64 × 2 × clock (GHz) ÷ 1,000
    RX 6700 XT anchor40 CUs × 64 × 2 × 2.581 GHz = 13.215 TFLOPS, scored 32.5%
    Console score32.5 × console TFLOPS ÷ 13.215 → PS5 25.27, Series X 29.89, Series S 9.85

Other partsVRAM vs 10 GB, CPU vs 8 cores/16 threads, RAM vs 16 GB, drive vs 2,400 and 5,500 MB/s

The 30 fps baseline is the console target Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson described, as reported by Push Square in August 2026; see our GTA 6 FPS calculator for the sourcing.

    A common mid-range PC: GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB), 6-core/12-thread CPU, 16 GB RAM, PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD at 3,500 MB/s, targeting 60 fps.

Computed by BitsFromBytes Research with the checker above.

BitsFromBytes Research finds that 60 fps at console-equivalent settings takes roughly twice a PS5’s GPU throughput. In the 2026 Tom’s Hardware data, that starts around the RX 7800 XT and RX 9070 GRE among AMD cards and the RTX 4070 Super among GeForce cards. An RTX 4060 clears PS5 level by about 12%, which points to 30 to 40 fps at console settings, or 60 fps with lower settings or upscaling.

What this checker cannot tell you

    • The real PC requirements. Rockstar’s PC port may run better or worse than console-equivalent hardware. Nothing here is an official minimum.
    • Ray tracing. Scores are rasterization only. Cards weak in ray tracing (older Radeons, entry GeForce) may fall further behind if GTA 6 on PC relies on it.
    • Processor speed per core. The CPU check counts cores and threads. A newer 6-core chip can outrun the console’s 3.5 GHz Zen 2 cores; an old 8-core can trail them.
    • Upscaling and frame generation. DLSS, FSR and XeSS raise frame rates; the estimate assumes native rendering.
    • Install size. Rockstar has not published one.
    • Laptops. Laptop GPUs run slower than desktop cards of the same name; pick a lower card.

    How fresh is this data?

GPU scores date from the Tom’s Hardware June 24, 2026 update; console specs are the manufacturers’ launch figures; GTA 6 status was checked October 27, 2026. This page will be updated when Rockstar announces a PC version or publishes PC requirements (the official table will replace the estimate at the top), on the November 19, 2026 console launch, and when Tom’s Hardware refreshes its hierarchy.

    FAQ

What are the GTA 6 minimum PC requirements?

None exist yet. Rockstar has announced GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The closest honest reference is the weakest console it runs on, the Xbox Series S, whose GPU scores about 10% of an RTX 5090 on the Tom’s Hardware scale, below an RTX 3050.

Will GTA 6 come to PC?

Rockstar has not announced it. GamesBeat reported in October 2026, from four anonymous sources, that a PC version targets early 2027. Rockstar’s previous games reached PC later: GTA V about 19 months after consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year.

Which graphics card matches a PS5?

On the Tom’s Hardware 2026 scale, the PS5’s GPU lands at about 25.3%, level with the GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB (25.0%) and just under the RTX 5050 (27.1%) and RX 7600 (27.2%). This is a BitsFromBytes Research estimate from RDNA 2 compute scaling, not a benchmark.

Is 16 GB of RAM enough for GTA 6?

16 GB matches the consoles’ total memory, but on a PC that 16 GB also holds Windows and background apps, and the graphics card has its own memory. 32 GB gives headroom; 8 GB is below console level.

Do I need an SSD for GTA 6 on PC?

Rockstar has not said. Both consoles stream from NVMe SSDs (2.4 GB/s on Xbox Series, 5.5 GB/s on PS5), so an NVMe SSD is the safe choice; a hard drive is far slower than either console.
